ANOTHER ROYAL DAY OUT
Cross Bayswater Road from the Station and enter Kensington Gardens by the Marlborough Gate shown above. Walk across the gardens, past Queen Victoria's Italian Garden, the statue of Barrie's "Peter Pan", then there is the Queens Chapel and the Serpentine Gallery which does not opn to 10:00am. Then down to the Albert Memorial, ending up at Kensington Palace just after 10:00am.
After lunch in the Gardens we cross Kensington Road to our Afternoon Tea Tour of the Royal Albert Hall at 2:00pm. This lasts 90minutes, so at 3:30 it is proposed to walk up Kensington Road it the High Street Station and catch the subway back to London Bridge.
The station complex incorporates retail stores (including a Marks and Spenser and a Pret a Manager ). The station itself has four platforms - two through platforms and two bay platforms. Platform 1 is used for anti-clockwise Circle Line..
